Appreciative Inquiry

 

Appreciative Inquiry is a positive approach to change and development. The focus is on changing how people think rather than what people do.

It takes a whole-system intervention approach to co-create ideas on which a collective future can be founded.

 

AI’s transformative nature is built around a 4-D cycle of; Discovery, Dreaming, Design & Destiny, to create new knowledge, images, models, and generative metaphors. It takes a more radical, strengths-based position than action-research approaches.

 

It has been described as “creating a new lens for seeing old issues”, rather than simply re-interpreting the current format, for incremental improvement.

 

Key uses are both, strategic - vision for an organisation / brand, and tactical - solving specific operational issues.
